The obligation of a notarial deed to benefit from periodic tax-deductible donations has already expired since January 2014. Instead, an accessible and legally valid alternative has been developed to which any charity affiliated with the trade association can join: PeriodiekSchenken.nl. Donors conclude a Periodic Donation Agreement online with the charity of their choice.
A periodic donation to charity will only bring a tax benefit if it is laid down in a duly signed agreement. The familiar process, in which a paper agreement must be printed, completed and sent by post is very laborious (despite the absence of the notarial intervention).
Software supplier Seneca therefore developed an online form with the Forms Server with which the agreement is drawn up digitally and signed digitally. This offers convenience, overview and financial benefit.
Together with a few charities, Seneca has optimized the form and the periodic donation agreement for digital use. Thanks to the digital solution, these charities quickly saw the number of successfully concluded contracts increase. The donor can start the entire process and complete it directly from behind the PC, tablet or mobile phone.
To make the success of the digital agreement available to all charities, Goede Doelen Nederland, together with Seneca, came up with a new concept: the portal PeriodiekSchenken.nl. There, information about the affiliated charities is shown and the donor can start a standard form to conclude a periodic donation agreement.
